Countdown to the Celebration
About the Celebration
More than a year ending. A culture continuing.
Every December, communities gather to mark the close of a year. Ours gathers to do something more deliberate: to put Nigerian culture at the centre of the room and celebrate it fully — the cooking, the music, the languages, the colour, the noise, the joy.
The Association of Nigerians in Nanaimo exists to bring Nigerians here together and to make a positive impact across Nanaimo. This celebration is that mission made visible for one evening: a night where our children see their heritage honoured, where those far from home feel close to it again, and where our neighbours are genuinely welcome at the table.
“A people of diverse culture and heritage — vibrant today, stronger tomorrow.”
You do not need to be Nigerian to celebrate with us. If you live in Nanaimo, you are part of the community this evening is for.
